WillowCreek Kennel purposefully remains small, breeding a litter only when we are ready to keep a prospect for the show and/or performance ring ourselves.

Australian Shepherds are not for every home or every person. The puppies are adorable but without proper and consistent socialization and training an Aussie may quickly become a nightmare. They do best in a dog savvy home with an active lifestyle, who has done their research, not only on the breed but also on high drive dogs and herding behavior. With that being said, we do require puppies to be pre-enrolled in puppy kindergarten before leaving our home and encourage training to continue throughout the life of the dog.
We spend a lot of time and energy training and competing with our dogs, so when we breed a litter, it becomes our priority. Our dogs are AKC & ASCA registered who are mentally and physically sound and genetically tested against hereditary diseases. Our puppies are raised in our home and leave with eye clearances by a canine ophthalmologist. They are well adjusted and socialized. They are crate trained, almost always sleeping in their new home starting day one, from 9pm - 6am, without a noise. They are introduced to baby agility equipment including but not limited to a tunnel, wobble board and teeter, multiple surfaces, collars, leashes, car rides and as many strangers as we can find. Spring/Summer puppies travel to the cabin, splashing in the lake, digging in the sand and playing with other dogs. Puppies are evaluated between 7-9 weeks of age and are sold as performance/companions who will be required to be altered. Our performance/companion price is $1200. If there is ever an exception, where we choose to sell a conformation/show puppy, it will be co-owned by WillowCreek and sold by private treaty.
